Learn to Think Systemically

Domination is an insidious thing. White, patriarchal domination is the prevailing paradigm (or worldview) in Western culture. It teaches us as individuals and as groups/organizations that success is achieved through competition when we have power over others. The higher up the ladder we are, the more success we have achieved.
Domination even teaches those who are not “at the top” that if they just work hard enough, they could get there someday. And so it reinforces the power-top as every person’s desired place which the overwhelming majority of people (who have no real chance of getting there) will never undermine because they dream of being there.
Domination is built upon hierarchies of control.
Feminism offers a profound alternative.
A feminist worldview is based on partnership, not domination. It utilizes hierarchies of empowerment, rather than hierarchies of control. It seeks collaboration instead of competition. It is a means of achieving the sacramental aspiration of Sharing by all and Scarcity for none.
The Feminist-Partnership system is possible to implement within your homes, your organizations and within a society. Parents who empower their children to become mature, responsible adults are doing it. Groups that practice inclusion and shared input are doing it. Iceland and Norway (and others) are doing it.
Our prevailing paradigm is our choice. Our worldview is only as constricted as our imagination and courage.
